Species Selection
 
For the Novice
 
There are a multitude of different types of fish, some are very easy for a novice to breed, others require a bit more knowledge and experience. Because of this we have decided to list species in 3 catagories, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. The species of fish listed on this page should be well within the capabilities of a novice breeder.
 
The easiest fish to attempt breeding from for a beginner are livebearers, they come in many different shapes, sizes and colours. The following list contains details of  common livebearers:-

You may wish to meet the challange of breeding egglayers, instead of livebearers for your first breeding atempts. The following list contains details of common egglayers that are within the capabilities of a novice breeder:-
