About this site I established this site on 12th October 2004, as a resource for parents of babies with positional plagiocephaly. At the time, there was no such website in the UK, indeed no UK websites at all about plagiocephaly, and my son, Toby, had just been fitted with a helmet.
Hannah (mum to Lulu, who was in a Cranio Helmet) and Stephanie (mum to Alexander, who was in a STARband then later a DOC Band) and I were arranging to meet up. We had just "met" on the US Yahoo! Plagiocephaly board. We emailed about how it would be good if there was a UK board that would be more relevant to parents in the UK. I went away that evening and set up this site. So thanks to Hannah and Stephanie for the impetus to do this.
In the first few days, there were just the three of us and another couple of members from the US board. Quickly, other people from the same US site joined, and a little community gradually built up. By April 2005, the site had 100 members and it had developed into a growing active community and a valuable source of help and advice for parents (and grandparents!) of babies with plagiocephaly. In September 2005, the site welcomed its 200th member, and a year later we had 700 members and in January 2007 welcomed our 800th member. In March 2008, we reached 1,000 members.
The group supports parents of babies with plagiocephaly. This is usually those who are young enough to still benefit from corrective procedures, like repositioning and helmets, but we try to support parents of older children with plagiocephaly as much as possible too. However, there is another group, dedicated to children over two and adults with plagiocephaly and this can be found at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OlderPlag Please note that the group's managers cannot respond to personal emails, so if you are enquiring in general about information on plagiocephaly, or what can be done for your child, you should join the group and post your query on the message board.

Lulu, Alexander and Toby - they gave me the impetus to set up this site.
