Paulo Chira repeats as Boys champ !

 

This weekend at the Ontario Winter Games held in Collingwood, Ottawa's Paulo Chira emerged once

again as champ, playing against his practice partner Derek Wong in the Finals. Derek missed a lots of backhands

which he normally would place on the table, as Paulo did not spin the ball as much as Derek thought!

However this was an exciting match as both players put on a show, looping and relooping topspins,

Derek would normally open the attack from his backhand side with his forehand and go towards

Paulo's backhand

It's the Girls finals and in one corner is Ryan Liu (coach for Fanni Csaba) !!!

But is it he who makes Fanni the Champ or is it a mirage???

Stephanie Yuen is tremendous.. Oh! With that pips of hers.. She causes a dilema, makes you play with

uncertainty, and with a devastating serve combined with her followup forehand attack

she's up 2 games to none, but Fanni finally caught up to her closing in the game at 9-9

the game goes on and Fanni takes game 3. At this point there is no excitement, after all

most player would lose a 3rd game but finish off their opponents in the 4th.

Stephanie gets off to a great start and hits forehands and backhands every where and is up

6-2 when it happens.. Ryan calls for a "time out" and the crowd is wild with laughter!

even Fanni is shocked, but comes over any ways to ryan's corner, Ryan gives here a little pep talk

"Hey Fanni play short and hit with your backhand wide to Stephanie" he says!

Fanni is really laughing now, but anyways tries out some of his advice and...

its now 6-6!!!,7-7,8-8,9-9,10-9,10-10,10-11,10-12 and Fannii takes game 4!

Game 5 Fanni gets off to a great start and make no mistake she closes off at 6!

Fanni WINS Fanni WINS.... as for Ryan he's only 10 years old?

The saying goes ...from out of the mouth of babes!
