Boy, a new journal, I'm so excited! I'm supposed to be working on my final projects for college, but think I can take a little time off! Last night I bought three new beauties on ebay: Green Dragon, Irish Maiden, and Rob's Penny Ante. I will also be receiving leaves next week from a couple of leaf trades. Better start making room on those shelves. Back to the books for now!

Just got word today that the school workshop I'm teaching is this Thursday, and I'm on. Hopefully I'm not in over my head, but hey, I'm going to school to be a teacher, so it should be a piece of cake. I have enough leaves so everybody can plant one, I have NOID babies for each student, ingredients to make soil, plastic cups, I'll demonstrate wicking and give them the option to try, yogurt containers as reservoirs, and I'll take some of my bloomers for show and tell. Now I just need to talk to the teacher and make sure they have all the materials for the art project there. We will be making Eric Carle style AV's. I mailed out my first two boxes of AV trades ever. Hopefully I did a good job packaging and the leaves and babies will arrive in good health. Can't wait till I get my boxes in return.

Done with college for this semester, YEAH!!! Finally I have a little more time for my AV's. I've been busy repotting and planting (I was soooooo bad; did a few trades and ordered a box from the Violet Barn). All my "show-off" plants are in Oyama planters, in sizes from 1.5" to 4". I love those things! My best bloomers right now are Optimara Millennia, Optimara Maine II, and Rob's Antique Rose. My problem children right now are Rob's Argyle Socks (just can't get it to bloom), Ukrainian Winter (the new leaves in the center of the crown keep rotting, then it's restarting), and Knight Magic (lots of buds, but they dry up before they open).
