Amino 222 Liquid Protein - 18 g protein - from GNC - “Like Kool-Aid!; Good mixed with diluted juice - my favorite was banana/orange/strawberry frozen concentrate”

Carb Solutions Bars (Chocolate Mint) - from Costco or Walmart - “Good; tastes like a cement brownie; the mint helps”

Carb Solutions Bars (Chocolate Fudge) - from Costco or Walmart - “Bad aftertaste; blah; not something I’d want to eat a whole bar of; chocolate flavor is overkill”

XAPP Drink - “Best flavor so far - similar to Kool-Aid but not as tart as the Protidiet Tropical Punch; I liked this - just right flavor”

Cheramino Liquid Protein - from Kristina’s at First and Barstow - 80 calories/5 g carbs/15 g protein

Glenny's Soy Veggie Snack - from Ralphs Grocery - “One 4 oz bag has "25 g Soy Protein, 160mg Soy Isoflavones, 8g Dietary Fiber, More Soy Protein than Tofu or Soy Milk, and as much mixed Carotenoids as 2 servings of Fresh Vegetables." One 1 oz serving has 120 calories and 7 grams of protein. It is crunchy, full of dry roasted soybeans, and tastes like a cracker type snack”

Genisoy's Soy Crisps - from Ralph’s Grocery “that come in many flavors. I like the creamy ranch flavor the best but it comes in some garlics and others as well. You can eat 25 of the crispy like crackers and get 110 calories, and 7 grams of protein with just 2 g of fat (3%). I love them.”

DUE AMICI PASTA LITE - 28 grams of protein/10 grams carbs from netrition.com

Sport Cookies - “they are sugar free and have 15 grams of protein and by the way, they are delicious. The "no sugar added" are called Sport Cookie and I ordered a sampler- just ate a Wild Lemon Zest- you can order them at www.protocookie.com or toll free (877) 776-2667”

Trader Joe's now has a low-carb bread: 4 grams of carbs and 6 grams of protein per serving. Of course, if you are in your first 3-4 months post-op, you shouldn't try it, but I've found I can tolerate a sandwich if I eat slowly enough. TJ's also has a high protein/low carb breakfast cereal (for those who can tolerate the milk). The taste is ok. They also have the best selection of protein bars and sell them by the box in addition to individually.

Detour Bars made by Designer Whey - from Walmart or grocery store. “They are AWESOME! By far, the best protein bar I have ever tasted. They are VERY high in carbs (21 grams) but have 32 grams of protein. I find I can only eat a third of a bar so a bar lasts me three days. The bar tastes EXACTLY like a Snickers bar”

Protein 95 - Chocolate - from GNC “Tastes like chocolate milk - I mix with Silk (soy milk) and it’s very good. 130 calories, 25 grams protein, 5 grams carbs”

Protidiet cookies - Vanilla Butter flavored Cookie - “a little dry but good taste and a good alternative when you want a cookie. 160 calories, 15 grams of protein, 22 grams carbs.”

It's called "Carb Countdown" by Hood. It’s an Atkins approved milk. I bought a half gallon of the chocolate and LOVE IT! In an 8 ounce glass, there are 100 calories, 3 carbs (2 are sugar), 12 grams of protein, & 4.5 grams of fat. It’s also higher in calcium than regular milk.

I get my protien from Wal-Mart and it only costs $8.47. It is called AdvantEdge HP Whey Protien - Chocolate flavor. I mix one scoop with 8 oz. of milk. It gives you 20 grams of protien from the mix and additional protien from the milk. I do however have to stop using 2% milk and switch to the Carb Countdown dairy drink because although the protien intake of 90 grams a day (three drinks a day) was great, it increased the carbs to 46 grams (from the milk) which slowed my weight loss. So, try the protien mix with Carb Countdown. It tastes like chocolate milk.

Champion Whey - has great protein

I also use TwinLab CherAmino... 15g protein per 2 tablespoons. It's pre-digested collagen. This I add to 32oz of water (counts towards liquid intake) and I will typically add a package of orange flavored Knox Gelatin (GREAT for hair and nails) mix it up and sip it all afternoon.

GNC has an Amino 222 that has 22g protein per 4 tblspns and it's awsome with Crystal Light Raspberry. I've used that as well.

I only order from www.bariatriceating.com my favorites are: Nectar, Proplete Gold Banana Cream and Elite Cafe _Mocha. The beef jerky is AWESOME too

Having trouble getting in your protein?  I found a new product this week at Longs.  It is called "Lean Protein Bites."  The 1 oz bag has 110 calories, 3 fiber, 7 carbs and 14 grams of protein.  It tastes like cereal (but not cereal) coated with whatever flavor you buy....peanut butter, chocolate, lemon or white chocolate.  Splenda is the sweetener used, along with soy  & whey protein isolate and a few other ingredients that I will let you read on the package.  Anyway, it is a handy take-along source of 14 grams of protein and something to crunch on.  They were about $1.25 a bag.

It's by EAS & it's called "Advant Edge Coffee House" It comes in 3 different flavors I like the _Mocha Latte & Joyce said that she likes the Cappuccino flavor. They also have a Caramel flavor too. it only has 1 gram of sugar & 15 grams of protein & only 3 carbs(1 Impact) & 3 fat grams !! I got it at Albertsons on a bogo sale. They also have it at Safeway & target. Or go to www.eas.com  for more info. It is one of the very few protein drinks that I can stomach. Joyce is so lucky that she likes & can drink almost any of them. Way to go girl!! If  I make my own out of the mixes, I gag. Dr Swartz told me not to mix them in the blender.... only by hand. I have also found good stuff/products & helpful hints on www.bariatriceating.com Good luck to all of the new/newer people & I hope this helps. And remember to drink extra water if you drink caffeine!  not beer!!!
